first post: disclaimer

the first thing i would like to address is the notion of blogging. the ubiquitous word now claims a great many connotations and carries with it a stigma of pretentiousness and triviality like few others. it is in the promise of meaning through words where we find our problem for as much credit as we give communications and our unique system of language and linguistics, it is all simply representations that can never fully present the thoughts of one person to another without dilution or contamination. however pressing, winsome, or popular a personal thought, idea, or belief might be, it can never truly extend beyond its one inherent quality of being personal. however much one strives to explain, elaborate, or defend, there will never be a full understanding or acceptance of his views. this i have come to understand and with the onset of this blog, i will attempt to remain ever vigilant of. i vow not to write a meaningful or entertaining blog, but simply to provide thoughts which readers may or may not find to be stimulating. it is impossible to elicit unanimous empathy from any audience and so i feel no pressure to do so. the compliance of any writer can only be with himself, and while he may try to align with the general opinions of the public, he must never treat such opinion as inherently valuable. with this i begin.
